Chief Minister Pema Khandu has successfully wrapped up an extensive state-wide district review exercise, marking a first-of-its-kind governance initiative aimed at accelerating development and addressing grassroots challenges across Arunachal Pradesh.
On May 23, CM Khandu announced the completion of the ambitious three-phase review that covered every district in the state. The final phase included in-depth discussions on key frontier districts such as Tirap, Changlang, East Kameng, Namsai, Lohit, Lower Dibang Valley, Dibang Valley, Anjaw, Tawang, and West Kameng.
The comprehensive exercise focused on critical areas including infrastructure gaps, manpower shortages, public grievances, administrative hurdles, and ongoing development projects. Senior officials, MLAs, deputy commissioners, and department heads actively participated, providing direct feedback from the ground level.
Sharing the update on social media, the Chief Minister described the review as a thorough assessment that captured “real issues” and “direct feedback.” He emphasised that every important point raised during the meetings has been carefully documented for follow-up action.
Khandu expressed gratitude to all participating public representatives and officers for their valuable inputs and cooperation. He believes this large-scale review will significantly strengthen governance mechanisms and help formulate more effective, targeted developmental strategies tailored to the unique needs of different regions in the state.
This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to responsive and accountable administration. By engaging directly with district-level functionaries, the exercise is expected to improve project implementation timelines, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure that development benefits reach the farthest corners of Arunachal Pradesh.
Observers see this as a proactive step towards better coordination between the state capital and remote districts. With Arunachal Pradesh pushing for faster progress in infrastructure, education, health, and connectivity, such structured reviews are likely to become a regular feature of governance in the future.
