Our Editorial Standards
Abotani TV is committed to accurate, fair, and responsible journalism. This Editorial Policy sets out the principles that guide our newsroom.
1. Accuracy and Verification
We make every reasonable effort to verify facts before publication. Claims are attributed to named sources wherever possible (“police said”, “according to officials”). Unverified claims are clearly identified as such. We do not knowingly publish false or misleading information.
2. Fairness and Balance
We aim to present all significant sides of a story. Subjects of critical reporting are given a fair opportunity to respond before publication wherever practical.
3. Independence
Our editorial decisions are independent of advertisers, sponsors, and commercial interests. Advertisements are clearly distinguishable from editorial content.
4. Privacy and Sensitivity
We respect the privacy of individuals, particularly minors and victims of crime or tragedy. We avoid publishing graphic or intrusive detail that serves no public interest.
5. Corrections
When we make an error, we correct it promptly and transparently:
- Minor errors (typos, small factual slips) are corrected silently in the article.
- Material errors (wrong facts, misattributed quotes) are corrected in the article with a dated correction note at the bottom.
- Serious errors may warrant a separate correction notice.
To report an error, email editor@abotanitv.com with the article URL and details.
6. Opinion vs News
News reporting and opinion content are kept distinct. Editorials and opinion pieces represent the views of their authors and are labelled accordingly.
7. Plagiarism
All content on Abotani TV is original. We do not plagiarise; sources of information, quotes, and data are credited.
8. User-Generated Content
Comments and content submitted by readers do not reflect the views of Abotani TV. We moderate submissions and remove content that is abusive, unlawful, or misleading.
