Likabali (Lower Siang): Lower Siang Police have intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking following the recent posting of a new Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police in the district.
Over the past one month, five individuals have been arrested in separate anti-drug operations conducted at the Likabali Check Gate and other locations. Authorities seized 12.64 grams of suspected heroin and 106 grams of cannabis during these drives.
Police officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug peddling or consumption. The department emphasised that such community support is crucial for creating a drug-free environment in the district.
The renewed focus on enforcement at key entry points aims to curb the inflow of narcotics into Arunachal Pradesh. Investigations into the arrested persons are ongoing, with cases registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.
This proactive stance by Lower Siang Police reflects the broader commitment of Arunachal Pradesh authorities to combat the growing menace of drug abuse in the state.
