Arunachal’s Seppa Celebrates National Panchayat Day 2026 with Focus on Self-Reliant Grassroots Governance

Seppa: East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh observed National Panchayat Day 2026 with great enthusiasm at Ato Ringso Hall in Lumdung, Seppa, under the national theme “Atmanirbhar Panchayat Se Samriddh Bharat Tak.” The event highlighted the vital role of Panchayati Raj institutions in strengthening grassroots democracy and driving self-reliance.

Minister for Women & Child Development Dasanglu Pul graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Tagru Kasha attended as Guest of Honour. Home Minister Mama Natung also participated, along with local MLA Ealling Tallang, senior officials, PRI members, and community representatives.

Speaking at the programme, MLA Ealling Tallang stressed the need to empower Panchayats through greater transparency, accountability, and close coordination between elected representatives and the administration. He underlined that real development must begin at the village level, with villages placed at the heart of governance.

The celebration brought together a large gathering of stakeholders and was described as one of the most coordinated district-level events of its kind in the state. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to building stronger, self-reliant Panchayats that contribute effectively to nation-building.

This observance serves as a timely reminder of the importance of decentralised governance in shaping an empowered and prosperous India.
