Imphal: The Manipur government has issued strict instructions to all government employees to mandatorily attend offices from April 21, despite a shutdown call given by certain organisations.
In an official order issued on April 20, the state government directed all Heads of Departments to ensure 100% attendance of staff in their respective offices. It also warned that employees found absent without valid reasons will face disciplinary action as per service rules.
The directive comes in response to a proposed shutdown called by some groups in the state. The government has made it clear that no leave will be granted during this period except in emergency medical cases, and all departments must submit daily attendance reports.
Chief Secretary has been asked to personally monitor compliance across departments. The order emphasised that government services must continue uninterrupted to ensure public welfare and administrative functioning are not affected.
This firm stand by the Manipur government reflects its determination to maintain normalcy and prevent any disruption in essential services amid the prevailing law and order situation in the state.
