Bomdila: In a remarkable display of medical expertise and dedication, doctors at the District Hospital in Bomdila successfully performed an emergency surgery on a critically ill patient, saving his life.
The patient, a 45-year-old man from a remote village in West Kameng district, was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition with acute abdominal complications. Upon examination, doctors diagnosed a life-threatening condition requiring immediate surgical intervention.
A team of doctors, led by surgeon Dr. Tsering Wangdi, conducted the high-risk emergency operation under challenging circumstances. The surgery lasted several hours and was successfully completed despite limited resources in the district hospital.
Speaking after the operation, Dr. Wangdi praised the coordinated efforts of the entire medical and nursing team. He said the patient is now stable and recovering well in the post-operative ward.
West Kameng Deputy Commissioner and officials have lauded the doctors and staff of Bomdila District Hospital for their prompt response and professionalism. The successful surgery has once again highlighted the crucial role played by district-level hospitals in providing critical care in remote and hilly areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
The patient’s family expressed deep gratitude to the medical team, calling them “lifesavers.”
This incident underscores the need for better infrastructure, advanced equipment, and more specialist doctors in district hospitals across the state to handle such emergencies effectively.
