Kiyit Village, Arunachal Pradesh – Nestled in the serene landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh, Kiyit village is emerging as a trailblazer in community-driven initiatives, setting an inspiring example with its focus on elderly care and village cleanliness. Under the banner of Mission Ayang, launched by the Kiyit Employees Welfare Society (KEWS), this quaint hamlet is blending compassion with sustainability to uplift its residents and surroundings.
Mission Ayang, a heartfelt endeavor by KEWS, zeroes in on supporting the village’s senior citizens while championing a cleaner environment. The society recently rolled out a training program for elderly caregivers, equipping them with essential skills to enhance the quality of life for the aging population. This initiative reflects a deep-rooted commitment to ensuring that the elderly live with dignity and comfort, a value cherished by the community.
But the mission doesn’t stop there. Kiyit is also making strides in cleanliness, with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan igniting a competitive spirit among nearby villages. Inspired by Silluk village—crowned the cleanest in East Siang district for two consecutive years—Kiyit has embraced the challenge. The Kiyit Swachh Abhiyan (KSA) team, led by President Arsang Pertin and Secretary Papa Tayeng, has been working tirelessly to keep the village spotless. Their efforts got a boost when the Silluk Swachh Abhiyan team visited, sharing insights and motivation to sustain the cleanliness drive.
A KEWS spokesperson highlighted the dual focus: “Mission Ayang is about honoring our elders and preserving our village’s beauty. From healthcare training to waste management, we’re building a healthier, greener Kiyit.” The caregiver training emphasized practical skills like first aid and daily assistance, ensuring the elderly receive attentive care, while the cleanliness campaign promotes a hygienic lifestyle for all.
The ripple effect of Kiyit’s efforts is evident as neighboring villages join the movement, spurred by the Swachh Bharat ethos. This collective push not only fosters community pride but also positions Kiyit as a model for rural development in Arunachal Pradesh.
With its picturesque setting and proactive spirit, Kiyit village is proving that small steps can lead to big change. As hashtags like #KiyitPride, #MissionAyang, and #SwachhBharat trend online, the village’s story is capturing hearts and inspiring others to follow suit.
