On January 21, 2025, Kalaktang MLA Tsetan Chombay inaugurated a paragliding event in Morshing village. He commended the efforts of Arunachal Adventure Tour (AAT) and highlighted the significance of this achievement for the villages of Morshing, Domkho, and Sanglem. Chombay emphasized that promoting adventure tourism in these areas can significantly enhance the tourism sector of West Kameng district. He assured support to AAT, stating that sustainable tourism can drive economic, cultural, and social progress while prioritizing environmental protection.

Tsering Wange, Vice President of the North East India Tourism Confederation and CEO of Himalayan Holidays, underscored the importance of expertise and skills in the tourism sector. He assured assistance to stakeholders in obtaining international training and emphasized the need for collective efforts to explore and showcase the vast tourism potential of Morshing, Domkho, and Sanglem.
Historical and Cultural Significance
Morshing village is home to the seven-century-old Lhagyala Monastery, historically linked to Queen Khandro Drowa Zamgmu and King Kalawangpo of Tawang. Sanglem village boasts Asia’s longest religious monument, the Mane Ringbu, measuring 95 meters, along with the historic Taklung Dzong, built in the 16th century by Lama Tanpei Dronmey. Domkho village is notable for the Melongkhar Gonpa and the ruins of King Melongkharpa’s fort and palace, believed to be over 500 years old.
