Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, with the Indian Air Force’s aerial display at Namo Ghat in Varanasi and the inauguration of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar headlining the itinerary.
During the Uttar Pradesh leg, the Prime Minister inaugurates a new garment manufacturing facility in Varanasi, a step officials say will strengthen India’s textile and apparel manufacturing ecosystem and underline the state’s growing role as a destination for industrial investment.
Wings Over Ganges at Namo Ghat
The Prime Minister attends the Air Force Day Aerial Display 2026 at Namo Ghat in Varanasi as chief guest. The programme commemorates the 94th anniversary of the Indian Air Force and is held under the theme ‘Wings over Ganges’.
The display features aircraft including the Tejas, the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand, the Su-30MKI and the Rafale, along with transport aircraft. Aircraft from the Indian Navy and the Indian Army also take part, showcasing jointness across the services, according to an official statement.
RBI Facility in Bhubaneswar
The Prime Minister then travels to Odisha to inaugurate the RBI’s Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar, described as a milestone in strengthening the technological foundations of India’s financial system. The institute is designed to meet the central bank’s computing requirements and provide a secure, resilient, scalable and future-ready computing ecosystem.
The visit pairs a celebration of air power with announcements on manufacturing and financial infrastructure, touching on three themes the government has pushed consistently: domestic defence capability, industrial growth and secure digital systems.
National developments continue to shape the Northeast as well, from the border situation in Arunachal Pradesh to law-enforcement action with international dimensions.
