The operation faced resistance from locals who pelted stones at the security forces, damaging several police and CRPF vehicles. To control the situation, non-lethal ammunition was used, and order was restored. The recovered items included two INSAS rifles, one light machine gun, a carbine, a MA3 MK-II rifle, over 150 rounds of various ammunition, mobile phones, a four-wheeler, a motorcycle, Nepalese currency, and other materials.
The arrested individuals are suspected members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group), known for extortion and subversive activities in the region. The operation underscores Manipur’s ongoing efforts to curb militancy and maintain public safety amid challenging security dynamics.
