Danny Denzongpa’s Journey from Bollywood Icon to Beer Industry Leader

Danny Denzongpa, renowned for his roles in films like Agneepath and Ghatak, has also made significant strides in India’s beer industry. In 1987, he founded Yuksom Breweries in his native Sikkim, naming the company after his hometown. By 2005, he expanded operations by establishing Denzong Breweries in Odisha. In a strategic move in 2009, Denzongpa acquired Assam’s Rhino Agencies, thwarting United Breweries’ plans to enter the northeastern market.

Today, Yuksom Breweries stands as India’s third-largest beer company, boasting an annual production capacity of 6.8 lakh hectoliters. The company employs approximately 250 individuals and contributes around ₹100 crore annually to the northeastern economy, reflecting Denzongpa’s commitment to regional development.

While focusing on his business ventures, Denzongpa continues to engage with the film industry. He appeared in successful films like Baby and its spinoff Naam Shabana, and made a cameo in the 2022 release Uunchai.
