The Mebo Sub-Divisional Administration in East Siang, Arunachal Pradesh, organized a special camp dedicated to “Good Governance Week, 2024” for the residents of Kiyit and other villages within the Namsing Circle.
This collaborative effort, conducted in conjunction with various district departments, took place at the Kiyit village community hall/Mosup under the banner of the “Sushasan Saptah – Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” campaign.
The camp was well-attended, with notable figures including Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng, DC Pasighat Tayi Taggu, ZPM Mebo Banggo-II Oter Ering Tayeng, and Mission Manager, ECMM, Olen Megu Damin, among others.
A diverse range of departments, including the District Administration, Medical Department (offering health check-up services), Power Department, PHED & WS, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, WCD, and Forest & Environment, brought their services directly to the doorsteps of the villagers.
Numerous citizen requests were addressed during the camp, encompassing the issuance of ST Certificates, PRC, Birth Certificates, Death Certificates, Income Certificates, electric bill payments, and assistance with old-age and widow pension applications. Furthermore, the Mebo Forest Range generously distributed 30 saplings of various tree species.
A significant number of villagers availed themselves of the medical check-up camp services. Notably, 41 individuals received OPD consultations, 27 underwent laboratory tests, 7 were screened for diabetes, 8 for hypertension, 7 for cataracts, and 7 for hepatitis (no positive cases were detected).
Beyond service delivery, the participating departments distributed special gifts to the elderly and conducted informative awareness campaigns on various government-sponsored schemes.
The camp’s success hinged on the active participation of various departments, supported by the invaluable contributions of PRI members, HGBs, GBs, and the residents of Kiyit and surrounding villages. Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng and DC Pasighat Tayi Taggu, who graced the occasion, encouraged the villagers to fully utilize these accessible services, emphasizing that otherwise, they would be required to travel to Mebo or Pasighat, incurring significant time and expense.
“I extend my sincere gratitude to Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng, DC Pasighat Tayi Taggu, and esteemed societal leaders from Pertin Bodum Baane Kebang, PRI leaders, GBs, and others for their invaluable support in ensuring the resounding success of the Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore camp,” expressed Sibo Passing, ADC Mebo.
