Hundreds of protesters from the All Meghalaya Citizen Conscious Forum (AMCCF) took to the streets of Shillong on Friday to denounce the ongoing persecution of minorities in Bangladesh. The rally, which began at Mawbah Point and concluded at Rhino Point, featured chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” as a show of solidarity with the oppressed communities.
AMCCF convenor Raju Paul announced plans to submit a memorandum to Bangladesh’s interim head of government, Muhammad Yunus, through the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills. The memorandum calls for immediate action to protect minorities in Bangladesh.
Paul strongly condemned the violence against Hindus and other minorities, describing it as inhumane and unacceptable. The protest aimed to draw international attention to the crisis and urge for measures to ensure the safety and dignity of all minority groups in Bangladesh.
