Roing in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Dibang Valley district is all set to become the epicenter of high-adrenaline adventure as it hosts the 22nd National Mountain Bike (MTB) Cycling Championships. This premier event, scheduled from February 12 to 15, promises to showcase India’s top off-road cyclists battling it out on challenging Himalayan trails, positioning the state as a key destination for extreme sports.
Organized by the Arunachal Cycling Association in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), the championships will feature competitions across Senior, Junior, and Sub-Junior categories. Cyclists from various parts of the country are expected to participate, highlighting the growing popularity of mountain biking in India.
The races will unfold on a demanding 3.9-kilometer technical trail at the Game Village site in Roing, designed to push riders’ limits with its rugged terrain, steep inclines, and scenic Eastern Himalayan backdrop. To ensure participant convenience, boarding and lodging facilities will be available from February 10 to 16, along with transportation services from Tinsukia Railway Station.
Adhering to national standards, all entrants must hold a valid 2026 CFI rider’s license. The event will prioritize fair play, with the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) conducting random dope tests to maintain integrity.
This championship not only celebrates athletic prowess but also aims to elevate sports tourism in Arunachal Pradesh. By leveraging Roing’s breathtaking landscapes and tough mountainous paths, it seeks to attract adventure enthusiasts and promote the region as an ideal spot for endurance sports and outdoor activities.
