The Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have successfully completed a joint training programme and coordination conference in Arunachal Pradesh, aimed at enhancing interoperability and operational preparedness along the state’s sensitive international borders.
Focus on Tactical Coordination in Challenging Terrain
The exercise, which concluded on June 24, emphasized tactical-level coordination between the two forces operating in the high-altitude and rugged mountainous terrain of Arunachal Pradesh. According to Defence Public Relations Officer Lt Col Mahendra Rawat, the programme included mission-specific tactical drills, mountain warfare training, route familiarization, and standardized communication procedures.
Personnel from both organizations rehearsed critical operational scenarios, such as casualty evacuation and joint response mechanisms, to refine their ability to function seamlessly in difficult conditions.
Strengthening Synergy for Border Security
The joint initiative highlighted the seamless integration between the Indian Army and ITBP, fostering mutual understanding and improving their collective capacity to handle demanding operational environments. This training forms part of broader efforts to strengthen coordination among security forces deployed along India’s strategically vital border regions.
Such collaborative exercises play a vital role in ensuring robust border management, rapid response capabilities, and overall national security in the northeastern frontier.
