In a moment of pride for Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Zing Messar and Bullo Manku have successfully cleared the highly competitive UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, marking a significant achievement for the northeastern state. The announcement has sparked widespread celebration, highlighting the talent and determination of the region’s youth.
Bullo Manku, hailing from the scenic Ziro Valley, continues a family tradition of excellence. Her elder sister, Bullo Mamu, previously cracked the UPSC exam in 2016 and now serves as an IRS officer. Manku’s success adds to the family’s legacy while inspiring others in the region. Dr. Zing Messar, another standout candidate, has also brought laurels to Arunachal Pradesh with his remarkable performance.
This year’s UPSC exam saw nearly 10 lakh applicants, with over 5.8 lakh appearing for the preliminary stage. Only a select few—around 1,000—made it to the final list, making Messar and Manku’s accomplishment even more noteworthy. Among the successful candidates, 87 belong to Scheduled Tribes, including the two from Arunachal Pradesh, reflecting growing representation from remote and underrepresented areas.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu took to social media to congratulate the duo, praising their hard work and dedication. “Your success is a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh and a shining example of what determination can achieve,” he stated, extending his best wishes for their future endeavors.
The achievement of Messar and Manku not only showcases their individual brilliance but also underscores Arunachal Pradesh’s rising prominence in national competitive examinations. As the state celebrates, these two trailblazers stand as beacons of inspiration for aspiring civil servants across the region.
