Hayuliang, Arunachal Pradesh – A significant health initiative, the Special Vaccination Campaign 3.0, was launched on March 18, 2025, in Anjaw district’s Swami Camp at the KPMDH Conference Hall. The program, inaugurated by Minister Dasanglu Pul, aims to enhance immunization coverage and tackle tuberculosis (TB) in the region.
The campaign focuses on improving vaccination rates for Td10 and Td16, achieving a 95% immunization target for MR1 and MR2, and ensuring all eligible individuals are vaccinated. This effort underscores the state’s commitment to bolstering public health, particularly in remote areas like Anjaw, which borders China and Myanmar.
In a notable gesture during the launch, Minister Pul, who oversees Women and Child Development, Science Technology & Research, and Art & Culture, adopted three TB patients under the Nikshay Mitra initiative. This program encourages community support for TB patients by providing nutritional and emotional assistance to aid their recovery. The minister’s action highlights a personal commitment to the cause and sets an example for community involvement in healthcare.
The event saw participation from local health officials, community leaders, and residents, who expressed optimism about the campaign’s potential to improve health outcomes. Mobile vaccination units will be deployed to reach isolated villages, ensuring comprehensive coverage across the district.
Authorities have assured that the initiative is well-equipped with resources and personnel to meet its goals. The campaign is expected to run for several weeks, with regular monitoring to assess its progress and impact on Anjaw’s population. This dual focus on vaccination and TB support marks a holistic approach to addressing pressing health challenges in Arunachal Pradesh’s frontier district.
