Outrage Mounts Over Alleged Custodial Torture of Arunachal Anti-Drug Activist

Gumin Mize, president of the Arunachal Anti Drugs Warrior organisation, was reportedly taken into custody in Assam’s Lakhimpur district. The incident reportedly stems from a complaint filed by Popi Kakoti, wife of Rupam Kakoti, who was earlier arrested by Arunachal Pradesh Police on charges related to drug peddling. Supporters of Mize argue that his relentless campaign against drug traffickers may have made him a target.
