Enhancing Women’s Health Services in Leparada District
In a significant move to improve women’s healthcare, Arunachal Pradesh has launched a tubectomy camp at the newly inaugurated Todak Basar District Hospital in Leparada district. This initiative aims to provide accessible sterilization procedures for women in the region.
Inauguration of Todak Basar District Hospital
On November 23, 2024, Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated the state-of-the-art Todak Basar District Hospital in Basar town. Named in honor of the late Todak Basar, a former Rajya Sabha member and minister, the hospital is equipped with modern medical facilities, including a modular operation theater, a two-bed ICU, and advanced diagnostic tools such as CT scans and MRIs. The facility also features a dialysis unit and a digital patient data management system, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services for the community.
Comprehensive Health Camp Benefits Thousands
Prior to the inauguration, a multispecialty health camp was organized in Tirbin, Leparada district, from October 10 to 12, 2024. This camp provided a wide range of medical services to over 3,150 patients from Tirbin and nearby areas. The services included echocardiograms, ultrasonographies, endoscopies, ECGs, laboratory tests, dental procedures, and minor surgical interventions. Additionally, 29 laparoscopic tubal ligations were performed, offering sterilization options to women seeking family planning solutions.
Commitment to Accessible Healthcare
The establishment of the Todak Basar District Hospital and the successful execution of the health camp underscore the state’s dedication to enhancing healthcare accessibility in remote regions. These efforts aim to ensure that residents of Leparada and surrounding areas receive quality medical care without the need to travel long distances.
Future Initiatives
The state government plans to continue organizing such health camps and expanding medical services to underserved areas, reinforcing its commitment to the well-being of its citizens.
