The 16th Annual Adventure Convention, hosted by the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) in Tawang, has solidified Arunachal Pradesh’s position as a rising star in India’s adventure tourism landscape. The six-day event brought together industry experts to explore and discuss the state’s vast potential.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu emphasized Arunachal Pradesh’s immense natural beauty and its potential to become a global adventure tourism destination. He stressed the importance of sustainable practices to ensure long-term growth and environmental preservation.
MLA Oken Tayeng, a member of the National Tourism Advisory Council, also highlighted the need for sustainable tourism. He cautioned against over-tourism and emphasized the importance of benefiting local communities while preserving the state’s pristine environment. Tayeng’s efforts, including the establishment of ‘The Hump WW-II Museum,’ have significantly contributed to promoting Arunachal’s historical and cultural heritage.
As the convention concluded, the focus shifted to developing long-term strategies to position Arunachal Pradesh as a sustainable and adventure-driven tourism hub, ensuring its preservation for future generations while unlocking its economic potential.
