In the late hours of August 2, just before midnight, Arunachal Pradesh Police intercepted Rohit Borah — a resident of Lakhimpur district in Assam — at 11:49 PM near Banderdewa. What they found during a body search was telling: 9.29 grams of suspected heroin, allegedly tucked away inside his undergarment. This wasn’t a random roadside check. Police sources confirmed that the Banderdewa team acted on specific intelligence before intercepting Borah. Borah, son of the late Arun Borah, hails from Parbatipur village under Laluk Police Station in Assam’s Lakhimpur district. He is now in custody, and a case has been formally registered at Banderdewa Police Station under Section 21(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
