The Arunachal Pradesh government has issued a fresh travel advisory urging commuters, transport operators, and the general public to avoid non-essential journeys on the Pasighat–Pangin section of National Highway-13 due to multiple road blockages caused by continuous heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.

Road Disruptions on Critical Highway Stretch

According to the Pasighat Highway Division, several stretches between Rengging and Yembung have been severely affected by landslides, rockfalls, and road subsidence triggered by persistent rain. These disruptions have significantly hampered vehicular movement and raised serious safety concerns for travelers.

Restoration teams have been deployed on a priority basis with men and machinery working round-the-clock to clear debris and reopen the affected sections. However, ongoing rainfall continues to trigger fresh landslides, making conditions highly unpredictable.

Safety Guidelines for Commuters

Authorities have strongly advised the public to postpone non-essential travel on the impacted stretches until normal traffic movement is restored. Those undertaking essential journeys are recommended to travel only during daylight hours and exercise extreme caution while navigating vulnerable zones.

Motorists have been specifically cautioned against stopping or parking vehicles in landslide-prone areas, rockfall zones, or sections with formation breaches. Travelers are also urged to strictly follow instructions from highway officials, police, and emergency response teams on the ground.

The administration expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and emphasized that these measures are essential for ensuring public safety during the current monsoon spell.
