Pasighat: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on April 14 launched a massive ₹19,644 crore development package for Siang district, aimed at transforming infrastructure, connectivity, education, health, and rural economy in the region.
During his visit to Pasighat, the headquarters of Siang district, CM Khandu formally inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple key projects under this ambitious package.
Major Components of the ₹19,644 Crore Package:
- Construction and upgradation of roads and bridges
- Improvement of power infrastructure
- Expansion of education and health facilities
- Development of rural water supply and sanitation projects
- Promotion of tourism and horticulture
- Skill development and livelihood initiatives
Speaking at the event, Pema Khandu said the comprehensive development package reflects the state government’s commitment to balanced regional growth, with special focus on Siang district, which has historically remained relatively underdeveloped.
He assured that the funds will be utilised transparently and efficiently, with strict monitoring to ensure timely completion of projects.
The Chief Minister also interacted with local leaders, public representatives, and beneficiaries, listening to their grievances and suggestions for further development.
This ₹19,644 crore push is being seen as one of the largest single-district development initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh in recent years and is expected to significantly improve the quality of life for the people of Siang district.
