Itanagar: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has issued a strong warning against any form of unauthorised collection of money from students in the name of the union or its units across the state.
In a statement issued on April 20, AAPSU president Meje Taku said the union has received several complaints regarding individuals and unauthorised groups collecting money from students under the pretext of union activities, membership drives, or welfare schemes.
Taku made it clear that no one has been authorised by the central executive of AAPSU to collect any kind of fees, donations, or contributions from students at this moment. He described such activities as “anti-student” and warned that strict action would be taken against those found involved.
The student body appealed to all students and parents to remain vigilant and not fall prey to such fraudulent collections. It also asked students to immediately report any such incidents to the nearest AAPSU unit or the central office with proper evidence.
AAPSU further stated that it will not hesitate to hand over such offenders to the police and initiate disciplinary action within the student community if required.
This strong directive comes at a time when several educational institutions are preparing for the new academic session, and the union aims to protect students from financial exploitation.
