Arunachal Governor Parnaik Advocates Gujarat Partnership for Shared Nation-Building at Bharat Parv 2025

Lt Gen KT Parnaik Spotlights Cultural Bonds and Economic Synergies Between States, Invites Gujarat Leaders to Explore Arunachal’s Vibrant Potential

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd.) has extended a compelling invitation for collaborative ventures between Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat, envisioning a dynamic alliance that harnesses mutual strengths for India’s collective advancement. Speaking at the Bharat Parv 2025 event held at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, the Governor emphasized the profound cultural and historical threads binding the two states, framing them as cornerstones for innovative growth and unity.

The occasion, a grand tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s enduring legacy, served as a fitting backdrop for Parnaik’s vision of inter-state harmony. He drew parallels between Gujarat’s cooperative triumphs in dairy, horticulture, and tourism and Arunachal’s untapped riches, including its status as India’s top kiwi producer, thriving mandarin orange and large cardamom cultivation, and immense hydropower reserves. “Gujarat’s blueprint for community-driven progress offers invaluable lessons for Arunachal, while our pristine landscapes and adventure tourism can inspire cross-border exchanges,” Parnaik articulated, underscoring the symbiotic potential to drive sustainable development.

Parnaik wove a narrative of shared heritage, spotlighting the timeless tale of Lord Krishna and Rukmini as a symbol of enduring ties. He highlighted the Madhavpur Fair in Gujarat, which commemorates their divine union, and its connection to Bismaknagar in Arunachal—revered as Rukmini’s birthplace. This cultural nexus, he noted, fosters a deep sense of interconnectedness that transcends geography.

Turning to Patel’s indelible impact, the Governor paid homage to the Iron Man’s strategic acumen, crediting it alongside Major Bob Khating’s pivotal efforts for securing Tawang as an integral part of India. “Patel’s wisdom continues to fuel our civic and youth programs, instilling a profound national pride that unites us all,” Parnaik reflected, linking this historical resolve to contemporary initiatives.

The Gujarati diaspora in Arunachal Pradesh earned special praise as living embodiments of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat ethos. Parnaik recounted the Raj Bhavan’s vibrant Gujarat Foundation Day festivities, where schoolchildren—including those with special needs—immersed themselves in Gujarati traditions through colorful displays and interactive sessions. “These exchanges are sculpting a new generation of Arunachali youth—bold, inquisitive, and deeply rooted in our nation’s mosaic,” he added.

On the development front, Parnaik celebrated Arunachal’s infrastructure surge, with over 4,000 kilometers of roads carved through formidable terrains in recent years, enhancing security, mobility, and access for isolated hamlets. He positioned the state as a tourism powerhouse, blending spiritual retreats, adrenaline-fueled adventures, and eco-conscious escapes amid breathtaking vistas.

In a forward-looking gesture, the Governor warmly invited Gujarat’s Chief Minister, ministers, and officials to visit Arunachal, promising immersive experiences that could spark joint ventures in trade, skill-sharing, and cultural diplomacy. This partnership, he envisioned, would not only amplify economic opportunities but also reinforce the unbreakable spirit of unity that Patel championed.

The Bharat Parv 2025 gathering resonated as a clarion call for collaborative federalism, where states like Gujarat and Arunachal converge to weave a stronger national tapestry, blending innovation with heritage for a prosperous tomorrow.
