Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s talented weightlifter Sambo Lapung has once again brought glory to the state by winning the gold medal in the men’s 110 kg heavyweight category at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 held in Chhattisgarh.
Competing in the prestigious national event, Lapung delivered a commanding performance by lifting a total of 299 kg, finishing well ahead of the silver medalist from Mizoram, David Lal Zawmdika, who trailed by a significant 29 kg margin.
