A tragic road accident in a remote border area of Arunachal Pradesh’s Anjaw district claimed the lives of four people, including a young child, while three others sustained injuries when their pickup truck veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge. The victims have been identified as Bijay Urang (41), Anu Urang (38), their five-year-old son Ayush Urang, and Meena Mura (35). Some of the deceased were reportedly associated with the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF). The injured passengers were initially rushed to the Army Hospital in Walong for emergency treatment and later referred to a hospital in Dibrugarh for advanced medical care.
Rescue teams successfully retrieved the bodies from the gorge and transported them to the BRTF camp in Walong. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation, with preliminary reports pointing to the difficult terrain and narrow roads typical of this frontier district.
