The 48th edition at Tali was marked by grand cultural displays, including rhythmic group dances accompanied by gongs and drums, showcasing the richness of Nyishi heritage.

Addressing the gathering, DCM Chowna Mein extended warm greetings to the people of Tali and the entire Nyishi community on the auspicious occasion. He emphasized that festivals like Nyokum Yullo play a vital role in preserving indigenous identity, strengthening social bonds, and passing down values to younger generations amid rapid modernization.

Key highlights from the Deputy CM’s speech and announcements:

  • Cultural Preservation Reiterated the state government’s unwavering support for protecting and promoting traditional festivals, customary laws, and indigenous knowledge systems. He called for active community participation in documenting oral histories, songs, and rituals.
