Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik has motivated the latest batch of graduates from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Arunachal Pradesh to integrate cutting-edge technical skills with innovative thinking, strong moral principles, and a deep sense of social accountability in their careers.
Delivering the keynote at the institute’s 12th convocation ceremony held at the DK Convention Centre, the Governor highlighted the importance of addressing real-world challenges that align with India’s national goals. He stressed the need for flexibility and continuous education, stating, “Every NIT graduate possesses the capability to play a vital role in realizing our vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat), not merely through career achievements but via deliberate and impactful contributions.”
The Governor encouraged the young professionals to prioritize values such as honesty, diversity, environmental sustainability, and collaboration, reminding them that “building the nation is a shared endeavor, and true success is never solitary.” He lauded NIT’s crucial contributions to providing top-tier technical training, advancing research, and sparking innovations that meet community demands, particularly in bolstering manufacturing and the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) sector.
Parnaik also commended the institute’s impressive track record, including a 95% placement rate involving over 100 recruiting firms and the launch of a state-of-the-art 5G laboratory equipped for pioneering studies in telecommunications.
The convocation saw 371 students being conferred degrees, comprising 319 at the undergraduate level, seven master’s recipients, and 47 doctoral scholars. Outstanding performers were recognized with gold medals: Vishal Raj, Vanshika Marwaha, Bhukya Nageswari, Kunisetty Narendra, and Jyotiranjan Satapathy excelled in their respective fields.
NIT Director Prof Mohan V Aware shared an overview of the institute’s accomplishments, encompassing academic excellence, job placements, skill-building programs, and extracurricular engagements. The institution currently enrolls 851 students supported by a faculty of 48 members.
This event underscores NIT Arunachal Pradesh’s growing influence in shaping future leaders equipped to drive technological and societal advancements in the Northeast and beyond.
