Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has reaffirmed the state administration’s dedication to bolstering rural facilities and supporting agricultural communities. He underscored the vital importance of openness, accurate record-keeping, and rigorous oversight at the grassroots panchayat level to guarantee the successful rollout of various public welfare programs.
During a community engagement session known as Chaupal Baithak, focused on the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) or VB-GRAM, Mein highlighted how this program embodies a unified effort to extend the advantages of efficient governance to even the most remote areas, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
The Deputy CM also kicked off a tractor procession arranged by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Namsai district, as per official reports.
The VB-GRAM Act of 2025 supersedes the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, offering assured wage work for 125 days each year to every rural family unit.
The interactive event drew active involvement from local agriculturists, political activists, and community members, conveying a powerful signal of commitment to uplifting rural areas and fostering development from the ground up.
Mein spotlighted the transformative impact of self-help groups on countryside economies, noting that entrepreneurial ventures and creative solutions in Arunachal Pradesh are creating fresh opportunities for young people. He advocated for synchronized actions, prudent fiscal handling, and technological integration to optimize resource allocation and ensure prompt aid reaches those who need it most.
Subsequently, in the company of area legislator Zingnu Namchoom, Deputy Commissioner C.R. Khampa, and fellow dignitaries, Mein launched a Botanical Garden at Noi Chenam Tengapani in Namsai.
He portrayed the garden as an emblem of the administration’s resolve toward protecting biological diversity and raising environmental consciousness, adding that the state’s abundant natural resources deserve careful stewardship for the benefit of upcoming generations.
In a separate event, the Deputy Chief Minister opened the extension wing of the district library in Namsai.
He explained that this addition demonstrates the government’s steadfast focus on upgrading learning environments and encouraging a habit of continuous education and intellectual pursuit.
“A library goes beyond just housing books; it’s a venue where concepts emerge, inquisitiveness is sparked, and youthful intellects are molded for tomorrow,” Mein observed.
He noted that the upgrade will deliver superior amenities and a more supportive atmosphere for learners, scholars, and enthusiasts of knowledge in Namsai and nearby locales.
These steps illustrate Arunachal Pradesh’s holistic strategy for sustainable rural advancement, ecological protection, and educational enhancement in the Northeast.
