Arunachal Pradesh Governor Evaluates Ex-Servicemen Welfare Programs, Advocates for Enhanced Support and Coordination

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd) conducted a comprehensive review of the welfare initiatives managed by the state’s Rajya Sainik Board, emphasizing the importance of supporting the health, rehabilitation, and job opportunities for retired military personnel and their families.

In a meeting with the board’s director and secretary, Air Commodore RD Mosabi (Retd), the governor delved into various aspects of welfare programs, assistance for war widows (Veer Naris) and veterans’ kin, as well as partnerships with the armed forces and relevant government bodies.

Demonstrating deep empathy for his fellow veterans, Parnaik affirmed the state government’s dedication to protecting ex-servicemen’s rights by ensuring prompt execution of support schemes, providing monetary aid, and establishing a reliable system for addressing complaints.

To broaden accessibility and foster direct interaction with the veteran population, the governor proposed holding ex-servicemen gatherings in partnership with Indian Armed Forces units based in Arunachal Pradesh.

Stressing the value of honorable reintegration into civilian life, Parnaik advocated for practical, outcome-focused strategies such as training in new skills, job placement services, and advice on entrepreneurial ventures.

He also recommended that the Rajya Sainik Board serve as a vital hub for collaboration among the Armed Forces, state authorities, Zilla Sainik Boards, and the Kendriya Sainik Board to guarantee efficient policy rollout and impactful community engagement.

This initiative reflects Arunachal Pradesh’s ongoing efforts to honor and uplift its ex-servicemen, contributing to stronger veteran communities in Northeast India.
