Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti Celebrates 31 Years of Promoting Value-Based Education Across the State

The Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti (ASVS), a prominent educational organisation affiliated with Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan, marked its 31st Foundation Day with widespread celebrations across Arunachal Pradesh. The events reaffirmed the organisation’s unwavering commitment to delivering value-based, culturally rooted education while nurturing responsible citizens through a blend of academic excellence and moral development.

The central ceremony was held at the ASVS headquarters in Abotani Vidya Niketan, Pachin (Kamak Nagar Campus), Naharlagun, where the Foundation Day flag was hoisted in a solemn function attended by senior members, teachers, students, and well-wishers.

Key Dignitaries and Addresses

  • Tai Tagak, ASVS Patron and former Adviser to the Chief Minister, served as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasised the vital role of preserving local languages and promoting familial values in education. He urged students to actively practise regional songs and maintain strong family communication, stating that these elements are integral to holistic learning and cultural preservation.
  • Tumge Lollen, Secretary of ASVS, expressed gratitude to parents and students for their continued trust in the organisation. Despite challenges with limited infrastructure, he highlighted ASVS’s dedication to upholding high academic and cultural standards.
  • Other prominent attendees included Gyamar Kassung (Joint Secretary) and Sukumaran K (State Coordinator).

Secretary Lollen also announced that the organisation will felicitate its top-performing students from the 2024–25 academic session — including state board toppers in Classes 5 and 8, as well as CBSE Class 10 toppers — at a special ceremony on November 24 at the headquarters.

Statewide Celebrations and Activities

Foundation Day was observed with enthusiasm in ASVS-affiliated schools and institutions across multiple districts, including:

  • Papum Pare
  • West Kameng
  • Lower Subansiri
  • Lower Siang
  • East Siang
  • Lower Dibang Valley
  • Namsai
  • Changlang

The celebrations extended to Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) managed by ASVS. Students participated in various co-curricular activities such as:

  • Essay writing competitions
  • Drawing competitions
  • Patriotic song performances

These events aimed to instil patriotism, creativity, and cultural awareness among the younger generation.
