Arunachal Pradesh Civil Aviation Minister Balo Raja has pressed for the urgent reinstatement of air cargo services at Donyi Polo Airport in Hollongi, which have been on hold since the transition to the airport’s new terminal on September 4. In a formal appeal to Airport Director P. Narendra, Raja emphasized the critical role of these services in bolstering the state’s economic progress and connectivity.
Highlighting the cargo facility’s importance, the minister noted its anticipated benefits for local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) gearing up for the India International Trade Fair 2025 in New Delhi, set for November 14–27. Additionally, he stressed the necessity of air cargo for transporting electronic voting machines (EVMs) and other vital materials for the upcoming local body elections in December.
Raja called on airport officials and stakeholders to fast-track efforts to restore seamless cargo operations at the earliest opportunity, underscoring the community’s reliance on this infrastructure for growth and logistical efficiency.
