In a powerful show of unity, women from Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh’s East Siang district led a prayer march, the ‘Shaurya Samman Yatra,’ at Gandhi Chowk to pay homage to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and commend the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive response in Operation Sindoor. Organized under the leadership of Joya Tasung Moyong from the Samvardhinee Nyas trust, the event drew members from local self-help groups and community organizations.
The yatra was held to honor the memory of 26 civilians, including Corporal Tage Hailyang of the Indian Air Force from Arunachal Pradesh, who perished in a devastating attack on April 22 in Baisaran meadow, Jammu and Kashmir. Participants offered prayers for the departed and expressed deep appreciation for the armed forces’ swift action in Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation, widely praised, struck camps linked to The Resistance Front, a Lashkar-e-Taiba affiliate responsible for the attack.
The march reflected Pasighat’s solidarity with the victims’ families and support for the military’s anti-terrorism efforts. Posts on X captured the event’s patriotic spirit, with users highlighting the strong community turnout and Pasighat’s united stance against terrorism. The yatra emphasized Arunachal Pradesh’s unwavering commitment to national unity, standing firm with the nation in mourning and resolve.
