Arunachal Police Nab Three from Assam in Heroin Busts

In a swift operation, Arunachal Pradesh police apprehended three individuals from Assam in connection with drug trafficking. The arrests followed twin raids conducted by the Itanagar police, leading to the seizure of significant quantities of heroin.

The first raid targeted a suspect in the Chandranagar area, where officers recovered 13.5 grams of heroin concealed in a plastic packet. The suspect, identified as a resident of Lakhimpur, Assam, was taken into custody. In a simultaneous operation, police raided a location in Chimpu, arresting two more individuals from Sonitpur, Assam. Authorities seized 10.2 grams of heroin and drug paraphernalia from their possession.

All three suspects face charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The arrests mark a significant step in curbing the drug trade in the region, with police continuing investigations to uncover potential links to larger trafficking networks.
