Arunachal Pradesh Accelerates Business Reforms, Deputy CM Urges Swift Implementation

– Arunachal Pradesh is stepping up its efforts to streamline business operations as part of the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) initiative, with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein pushing for rapid progress. During a high-level meeting held on Friday in the state capital, Mein directed officials to fast-track reforms aimed at creating a more investor-friendly environment.

The meeting, attended by senior government officials and department heads, focused on reviewing the state’s advancements in simplifying regulatory processes and cutting bureaucratic delays. Mein emphasized the need for immediate action to ensure Arunachal Pradesh remains competitive in attracting investments and fostering economic growth.

“Time is critical. We must act swiftly to remove obstacles and make doing business in our state seamless,” Mein stated, underscoring the importance of collaboration between departments to achieve tangible results. He highlighted that these reforms are vital for boosting employment opportunities and strengthening the state’s economy.

The deputy chief minister also praised the ongoing efforts of various departments but stressed that more needs to be done to meet national benchmarks. The state government is reportedly working on digitizing services, reducing paperwork, and improving transparency to align with the central government’s EoDB framework.

Arunachal Pradesh has been steadily climbing the ranks in India’s business-friendly index, and officials are optimistic that these accelerated reforms will further enhance its standing. The state aims to become a hub for entrepreneurship and industrial development in the Northeast, leveraging its strategic location and natural resources.

The meeting concluded with a call for regular progress reviews and a commitment to addressing bottlenecks promptly. With these initiatives, Arunachal Pradesh is positioning itself as a forward-looking state ready to embrace economic opportunities in 2025 and beyond.
