Roing, Arunachal Pradesh – Authorities in Lower Dibang Valley district identified 130 individuals violating Inner Line Permit (ILP) regulations during a rigorous verification operation on March 17, 2025. The drive, spearheaded by the district administration and police, resulted in fines totaling ₹95,900 being imposed on the offenders, as per established guidelines.
The ILP system, a mandatory requirement for non-residents entering Arunachal Pradesh, aims to regulate movement into the state’s restricted areas. The operation in Roing was part of ongoing efforts to enforce compliance and ensure that all visitors and residents possess valid permits.
According to officials, the crackdown involved coordinated efforts between administrative and law enforcement teams, who conducted checks across the town. Violators were penalized in line with prescribed regulations, and authorities have reiterated the importance of adhering to ILP norms to avoid legal repercussions.
A district official stated, “This initiative reflects our commitment to upholding the law and maintaining order. We urge everyone to secure a valid ILP before entering restricted zones.” The administration has also advised the public to report any suspicious activities related to ILP violations.
The enforcement drive underscores the state’s focus on safeguarding its unique cultural and geographical identity, a key reason behind the ILP system’s implementation. Further verification efforts are expected to continue across Arunachal Pradesh to ensure compliance with these protective measures.
