Arunachal Pradesh Minister Opens New Sub-Post Office in Siang District

A significant step toward improving postal services in rural Arunachal Pradesh was taken today with the inauguration of the Boleng Sub-Post Office in Siang district. The facility was officially opened by State Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ojing Tasing, marking a milestone in enhancing connectivity and accessibility for local residents.

The newly established sub-post office aims to cater to the postal needs of Boleng and its surrounding areas, providing essential services such as mail delivery, savings schemes, and other financial transactions. Speaking at the event, Minister Tasing emphasized the importance of such infrastructure in bridging the gap between remote regions and urban centers. “This sub-post office will bring convenience to the people and support economic growth by facilitating better communication and access to government services,” he said.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of senior officials from the Department of Posts, local leaders, and community members. The Superintendent of Posts, Itanagar Division, highlighted that the facility is part of a broader initiative to expand postal networks across the state, ensuring that even the most far-flung areas remain connected.

Residents of Boleng expressed optimism about the development, noting that the sub-post office would save them time and effort previously spent traveling to distant towns for postal services. The move is expected to boost local businesses and empower villagers by integrating them into the digital and financial ecosystem.

The establishment of the Boleng Sub-Post Office aligns with the state government’s vision of promoting inclusive growth and strengthening rural infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh.
