Assam Strikes Gold: Advantage Assam 2.0 Nets Over Rs 90,000 Crore in Investments on Day One

Guwahati, Assam – The Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit has kicked off with a bang, securing investment proposals exceeding Rs 90,000 crore on its opening day. Held in Guwahati, this flagship event is proving to be a game-changer for Assam, positioning the state as a rising star in Northeast India’s economic landscape and drawing attention from top-tier investors worldwide.

The summit, a powerhouse gathering of industrial giants, foreign delegates, and public sector leaders, saw major commitments from private players like the Adani Group, Tata Power, JSW, and state-run giants such as Oil India Limited (OIL) and Numaligarh Refinery. Together, private sector pledges surpassed Rs 53,000 crore, while public sector undertakings chipped in with over Rs 35,000 crore, painting a robust picture of Assam’s investment appeal.

A standout moment came from Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, who unveiled plans to pump Rs 50,000 crore into the state across transformative sectors like airports, city gas distribution, cement, and road infrastructure. This hefty commitment signals a seismic shift for Assam, promising to turbocharge its industrial and connectivity framework while creating thousands of jobs.

The event’s momentum is far from over, with officials hinting at even bigger announcements on the horizon. “We’re just getting started—expect the investment tally to climb higher by the summit’s close,” a senior official teased. With more than 30 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) already inked, the stage is set for a flood of economic activity.

Assam’s strategic edge as a gateway to Northeast India and its proximity to international trade routes via Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Myanmar are key draws for investors. The state’s abundant resources—think petroleum, natural gas, coal, and limestone—coupled with government sweeteners like tax incentives and land allocations, are turning heads in energy, manufacturing, and logistics circles.

The Assam government isn’t stopping at promises. Massive upgrades in transportation—like new roads, airports, and rail networks—alongside a push for renewable energy, are laying the groundwork for sustainable growth. This summit isn’t just about dollars; it’s about jobs for the youth, industrial expansion, and a stronger, self-reliant Assam.

As #AdvantageAssam2 trends online, the buzz is undeniable. From day one alone, the summit has cemented Assam’s status as a hotbed for opportunity, blending ambition with action to rewrite the state’s economic future.
