Pasighat, February 24, 2025 – Seram village in Arunachal Pradesh took a significant step toward sustainable development today with the launch of ‘Mission Mullek’ under the Eco-Clean Mebo Mission (ECMM). The initiative, aimed at enhancing rural tourism and fostering eco-friendly growth, was rolled out at the village’s community hall in a ceremony attended by local leaders and residents.
The launch event, organized with the support of the Modi Welfare Society and Mebo administration, featured the planting of 150 areca nut saplings, signaling the start of a broader plan to transform Seram into a palm yard village. This move is expected to boost the area’s appeal to tourists while promoting agricultural sustainability. Retired Deputy Director of Agriculture Obang Doso Panggam, who graced the occasion as the chief guest, emphasized the potential for long-term benefits through eco-tourism. Extra Assistant Commissioner Nancy Yirang, the guest of honor, also highlighted the importance of community-driven efforts in the region’s progress.
Supervised by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sibo Passing, who chairs the ECMM, and managed by Olen Megu Damin, the mission aligns with broader efforts to keep villages under Mebo Sub-Division clean and green. Local authorities see ‘Mission Mullek’ as a model for blending environmental care with economic opportunity, positioning Seram as a future hub for rural tourism in Arunachal Pradesh.
