Tawang, February 23, 2025 – The Tawang Police organized an engaging awareness program at PM SHRI School, JNV Tawang, focusing on child protection laws, online safety, and self-defense skills for students. The initiative aimed to equip young minds with essential knowledge and techniques to ensure their safety in today’s world.
The session was spearheaded by Inspector N. Angu, Officer-in-Charge of Tawang Police Station, alongside her team. Principal M. L. Meena inaugurated the event, welcoming participants and stressing the importance of such programs in building a secure environment for students. “Educating our youth about their rights and safety is a step toward empowering them,” Meena said in his opening remarks.
The workshop covered key topics, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which was explained in simple terms to help students understand their legal protections. A segment on cyber safety addressed the growing risks of the digital age, offering practical tips to navigate online spaces securely. The highlight was a hands-on self-defense training session, where students learned basic techniques to protect themselves in emergencies.
The program received an enthusiastic response from attendees, who appreciated the blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. By fostering awareness and confidence, Tawang Police underscored their commitment to community safety, particularly for the younger generation.
