Pasighat, February 23, 2025 – Arunachal Pradesh’s Education Minister, Pasang Dorjee Sona, officially kicked off the second Arunachal Pradesh University Festival (APU Fest 2025) on Saturday at the university campus in Pasighat. The event, organized by the Arunachal Pradesh University Students’ Union (APUSU), showcased a vibrant celebration of student talent and underscored the state government’s dedication to advancing educational infrastructure.
In his address, Minister Sona praised the university’s progress since its establishment in 2023, emphasizing its role as a cornerstone of higher education in the state. “The growth of Arunachal Pradesh University reflects our commitment to building a robust academic foundation for our youth,” he said, assuring continued support for its development. He highlighted the government’s focus on improving facilities and opportunities for students, aligning with broader goals to elevate educational standards across the region.
The festival commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony, featuring a mesmerizing mega dance performance by APU students that captivated attendees. Mutchu Mithi, the chief guest and MLA from Roing, lauded the university’s achievements and expressed optimism about the future of education in Arunachal Pradesh. “This institution is a testament to our collective efforts, and I am confident it will continue to thrive with the state’s backing,” he remarked.
The event saw participation from prominent figures, including East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu and APUSU president Likha Tagung, who both emphasized the festival’s significance in fostering student unity and creativity. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from APUSU General Secretary Anup Muang, followed by the national anthem, marking a memorable start to the festivities.
