The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Kavilya Trivikram Parnaik, emphasized that the state will not tolerate any external interference. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to protecting its citizens, especially those in the districts of Tirap, Changlang, and Longding, from such intrusions.
While chairing a high-level review meeting in Khonsa, Tirap district, on Monday, the Governor warned anti-national elements attempting to create unrest in the state’s three eastern districts, stressing that they would face severe consequences.
According to a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, Parnaik addressed security officials and highlighted the importance of ensuring a secure environment for the state’s development and progress. He emphasized the need for all necessary measures to defend national interests and safeguard the well-being of residents in border areas.
Further underscoring the strategic importance of border security, the Governor urged security forces to build strong relationships with rural residents in remote border areas. He called for supporting their basic needs through goodwill projects to foster trust and cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Director General of Police Anand Mohan, Commander of the 25 Sector Assam Rifles Brigadier Sarabjit Singh, and others. Earlier, Singjatla Singpho, Superintendent of Police for Tirap, gave a presentation on the security situation in the three districts.
