Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav has once again launched a scathing attack on the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government, calling it a “double blunder” government over the arrangements for the Mahakumbh 2025.
Speaking to journalists in Auraiya, Yadav accused the government of overhyping the event as if Mahakumbh had never been held before. He criticized the state administration’s claims of managing 100 crore pilgrims, alleging that despite their massive publicity campaigns, mismanagement continues to cause distress to devotees.
Akhilesh Yadav Slams Government’s Handling of Mahakumbh
During his return from a private event in Kanpur, Yadav’s convoy was stopped by party workers in Auraiya, where he addressed the media. He accused the government of prioritizing self-promotion over proper arrangements for pilgrims, adding that over 60 crore people had already participated, yet chaos and difficulties persisted.
Delhi Railway Station Stampede: Another Blunder?
Akhilesh Yadav also referred to the recent stampede at Delhi Railway Station, blaming it on railway mismanagement and linking it to the overall failures of the BJP-led government.
He stated:
“People are losing their lives due to poor administration. Whether it’s roads or railway stations, mismanagement is everywhere. They claim to have arranged for 100 crore people, yet devotees are facing hardships.”
Mahakumbh Publicity vs. Reality
Yadav further accused the ruling party of focusing more on public relations than actual governance, stating:
“The government is promoting Mahakumbh as if it has never happened before. Any criticism is taken as an attack instead of constructive feedback.”
As Mahakumbh 2025 progresses, opposition parties are intensifying their scrutiny of the UP government, raising concerns over public safety and event management.
