As winter gradually recedes, North India is experiencing fluctuating weather conditions. While Delhi-NCR and nearby regions witness rising daytime temperatures, hilly states like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir continue to receive snowfall.
Delhi Weather Update
On February 16, Delhi experienced partly cloudy skies with light smog and fog in the morning. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 29°C, while the minimum will hover around 11°C. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), rain is likely in Delhi on February 19 and 20, which may bring a temporary shift in weather conditions.
Weather Conditions in Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh saw a significant temperature variation, with Jhansi recording the highest temperature at 30.6°C and Ayodhya being the coldest at 7.5°C. The weather is expected to remain dry across western and eastern parts of the state, with light fog in the morning and late night hours. No alerts for heavy fog or rainfall have been issued.
Bihar: Mild Cold Persists
Bihar’s weather remains dry, with no warnings for dense fog or rainfall. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 24°C and 30°C, while the minimum will stay between 10°C and 14°C. A slight dip of 1-3°C in minimum temperature is expected in the next 24 hours, followed by a gradual rise.
Rajasthan Weather Outlook
Rajasthan experienced mostly dry conditions, with Barmer recording the highest temperature at 35.6°C and Karauli witnessing a minimum of 8.8°C. The IMD predicts a 1-3°C rise in temperature over the next 48 hours. Between February 17 and 20, light rain may occur in the northern and western regions.
Snowfall Continues in Himachal & Jammu-Kashmir
Cold conditions persist in Jammu & Kashmir, but temperatures are expected to gradually rise after February 19. Himachal Pradesh continues to experience snowfall in higher-altitude areas, while the plains remain cold. A cold wave alert has been issued for February 17 in low-lying areas of Himachal.

- Skardu (Ladakh): -3.4°C
- Gulmarg: -3°C
- Gilgit: -2°C
- Pahalgam: -0.5°C
Rain & Fog Warning for Northeast India
IMD has issued a thunderstorm and hailstorm warning for Arunachal Pradesh, while dense fog is expected in Odisha, Sikkim, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Rain has been recorded in Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland, which may lead to temperature fluctuations.
A new western disturbance is set to impact the Western Himalayan region on February 17, causing weather changes in northern and western parts of India, with light rain and a slight drop in temperatures expected in the coming days.
