Nyeman Wangsu’s Consecutive Gold
Nyeman Wangsu, a 21-year-old wushu practitioner from Arunachal Pradesh, clinched her second consecutive gold medal in the women’s Daoshu event at the National Games. She had previously secured gold in the same category during the 36th National Games held in Gujarat.
Overcoming Setbacks
Earlier in 2023, Wangsu, along with teammates Onilu Tega and Mepung Lamgu, faced disappointment when they were denied visas to participate in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, despite qualifying for the event. This setback did not deter them; instead, it fueled their determination to excel in subsequent competitions.
