Warm Reception in Pasighat
Mrs. Gena Borang Perme, hailing from Ayeng village in East Siang District, was warmly welcomed in Pasighat after securing the 2nd Runner-Up position in the Naara-Aaba Mrs. Arunachal 2025 pageant held in Itanagar. The Perme Kening Welfare Society (PKWS), along with its Pasighat unit, women from the Borang clan, and representatives from the Adi Baane Ane Kebang, organized the reception to honor her achievement.
Community Pride and Support
Tokbom Perme, General Secretary of PKWS, expressed immense pride in Gena’s accomplishment, noting that she has elevated the community’s stature by winning the title on her first attempt. In addition to being the 2nd Runner-Up, Gena also earned the titles of Mrs. Talent and Mrs. Popularity. Perme highlighted that her success serves as an inspiration and a symbol of women’s empowerment within the society.

Upon her return to Ayeng village, Gena and her husband, Daniel Perme, were greeted with joyous celebrations by family members and fellow villagers. The community expressed happiness and pride in Gena’s success, acknowledging the honor she has brought to their village.
Personal Reflections
In an interview with North East Live, Gena shared her experience, stating, “It was my first attempt to participate in the contest, but despite my being a fresher, I gave my best amidst the many fellow aspirants, some of whom were experienced in such contests before.” She acknowledged making certain mistakes during the finale due to confusion but remained optimistic about performing better in future endeavors. Gena also expressed gratitude to her supporters and family, especially her husband, Daniel, for his unwavering support.
Family Support
Daniel Perme conveyed his happiness over his wife’s achievements, stating, “My support to my wife will continue in whatever platforms she wants to try in future.” The couple has three sons, aged 10, 5, and 1.5 years, who also share in the family’s pride.

Overview of the Pageant
The 13th edition of the Naara-Aaba Mrs. Arunachal pageant concluded with a grand finale at the DK Convention Hall in Itanagar. Nabam Sumpi Nich won the title in the General category, with Dr. Yeshi Wangmu Monpa and Gena Perme Borang as the first and second runners-up, respectively. In the Classic category, Taba Yajo Bengia secured the crown, followed by Antilu Gambreh and Taw Mana as the first and second runners-up. The event featured 14 contestants who showcased elegance and talent through multiple rounds.
