Arunachal Pradesh Youths to Showcase Monpa Culture at Republic Day in Delhi

A group of approximately 60 young individuals from Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, is set to present the traditional Monpa culture and dance in New Delhi on January 26, during the Republic Day celebrations. This initiative is led by Tsangpa Norbu, president of the Monpa Artist Forum. Prior to their departure, the Dirang and Bomdila units of the Monpa Artist Forum honored the participants and extended their best wishes.

In a separate development, the Arunachal Pradesh Service Pensioners’ Association (APSPA) East Siang unit has undertaken the renovation and development of selected schools as part of its social responsibility efforts. Under the leadership of President Bodong Yirang (retired DEE) and General Secretary Dr. Onik Moyong (retired doctor), the association has improved infrastructure in schools across the Mebo, Bilat, and Ruksin clusters. Enhancements include refurbishing buildings and access roads at Government Primary School in Langko (Mebo block), restoring Tako Gao Memorial Government Primary School in Sika Tode (Ruksin block), and constructing boundary walls, ceilings, and a morning assembly area at Government Primary School in Tekang (Bilat block). These developments were confirmed by Banom Tayeng, the Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC).

These initiatives highlight the active involvement of Arunachal Pradesh’s youth and retired professionals in promoting cultural heritage and improving educational infrastructure within the state.
