The Nugong Banggo Kebang (NBK) on December 28th extended its sincere gratitude to the PWD Division of Boleng, under Siang district, for the significant progress made in road construction, connecting the villages of Nugong Banggo and Rasing.
The NBK also expressed its appreciation to Pangin-Boleng MLA-cum-Minister, Panchayati Raj & Rural Development and Transport, Ojing Tasing, for his instrumental role in driving this crucial development. Minister Tasing’s proactive efforts have paved the way for the commencement of road construction from Nugong Bridge to Rasing village, addressing a long-standing need of the local community.
In a press release, NBK President, Tanyong Taloh, stated that road construction has commenced and has already reached Rasing village, with formation cutting currently underway. This vital infrastructure project, undertaken under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), spans approximately 10 kilometers, connecting rural villages under the Rebo-Perging circle within the Siang district.
“On behalf of the people of Nugong Banggo Kebang, we express our profound gratitude to the local MLA-cum-Minister, Ojing Tasing, as well as the PWD Boleng Division for their commitment to improving connectivity by constructing this crucial road to Rasing village,” added Tanyong Taloh.
Furthermore, the NBK has formally requested the state government and Minister Tasing to expedite the sanctioning of funds for the construction of an RCC Bridge over Ribung Korong, a river stream located between Nugong Bridge and Rasing village.
Oja Pajing, the ex-village Secretary of Mopit (Rasing) village, also conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to Minister Tasing and the PWD Boleng Division on behalf of the entire village. He acknowledged the significant impact of this road construction, which will finally connect their village to the broader network of roads within the Siang district.
Until recently, the residents of Rasing/Mopit village faced considerable hardship in accessing Siang district headquarters (Boleng). Prior to this road construction, they were required to traverse a significantly longer and more challenging route via 65 Kilo Dite Dime-Riew-Jorsing-Beging villages to reach their destination.
