The Arunachal Pradesh government has terminated the services of a Finance and Accounts Officer (FAO) for his alleged involvement in the question paper leak scam that occurred during the APPSC exam in August 2022.
Governor KT Parnaik issued an order dismissing FAO Gomo Sora, posted in the office of the deputy commissioner at Yupia, with immediate effect. Disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him due to his misconduct in the scam.
The order stated that his actions had severely undermined public trust in the fairness and transparency of public recruitment processes.
The question paper leak in the assistant engineer (civil) exam, conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), was brought to light by a candidate who filed a police complaint. Subsequently, ten individuals, including the APPSC deputy secretary-cum-deputy controller of examination, were arrested in connection with the case. The investigation has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
